His lineage is traditionally traced back to the <strong data-start=\"846\" data-end=\"881\">House of the Prophet\u00a0Muhammad \ufdfa<\/strong>, being <em data-start=\"889\" data-end=\"897\">Hasani<\/em> on his father\u2019s side and <em data-start=\"923\" data-end=\"933\">Hussaini<\/em> on his mother\u2019s side, making him a <em data-start=\"969\" data-end=\"977\">Sayyid<\/em> (descendant of the Prophet \ufdfa).<\/p><p data-start=\"1048\" data-end=\"1353\">His father was <strong data-start=\"1063\" data-end=\"1088\">Sayyid Abu\u00a0Saleh\u00a0Musa<\/strong> and his mother <strong data-start=\"1104\" data-end=\"1135\">Sayyida Umm\u2011ul\u2011Khayr Fatima<\/strong>. One well\u2011known story from his youth, often related in traditional biographies, recounts his journey to <strong data-start=\"3385\" data-end=\"3396\">Baghdad<\/strong> (where he later became a renowned scholar and saint). On this journey, after his father\u2019s passing, he was traveling with a caravan when it was confronted by bandits. After his initial upbringing under the loving care of his grandfather <strong data-start=\"625\" data-end=\"660\">Hazrat Sayyid Abdullah Sauma\u2019ee<\/strong> and then his mother, he began his basic studies in his hometown <strong data-start=\"725\" data-end=\"734\">Jilan<\/strong> (Persia). At around <strong data-start=\"755\" data-end=\"781\">four to five years old<\/strong>, he was enrolled in a local <em data-start=\"810\" data-end=\"821\">madrassah<\/em> where he mastered basic Arabic grammar, Qur\u2019an recitation, and foundational Islamic teachings.<\/p><p data-start=\"956\" data-end=\"1258\">Traditions narrate that even in these formative years he excelled rapidly in learning. It is conveyed in many Sunni biographical sources that his grasp of lessons was exceptional \u2014 he understood and memorised with remarkable ease, far beyond the pace of his peers.<\/p><p data-start=\"1306\" data-end=\"1726\">At about <strong data-start=\"1315\" data-end=\"1340\">eighteen years of age<\/strong>, driven by a burning love for knowledge and spiritual excellence, Hazrat Ghaus\u2011e\u2011Azam set out for <strong data-start=\"1439\" data-end=\"1450\">Baghdad<\/strong>, which at the time was one of the most renowned centres of Islamic learning in the Muslim world. His mother, recognising the noble destiny that awaited him, supported his journey and advised him always to remain true to Islamic teaching.<\/p><p data-start=\"1728\" data-end=\"2018\">In <strong data-start=\"1731\" data-end=\"1742\">Baghdad<\/strong>, he entered the prestigious <em data-start=\"1771\" data-end=\"1788\">Jamia Nizamiyya<\/em> \u2014 one of the leading institutions of Islamic scholarship of the age. Here he studied under some of the most distinguished scholars of his time, covering the full spectrum of Islamic sciences.<\/p><p data-start=\"2020\" data-end=\"2068\">His teachers included renowned scholars such as:<\/p><ul data-start=\"2069\" data-end=\"2454\"><li data-section-id=\"1qtgt16\" data-start=\"2069\" data-end=\"2166\"><strong data-start=\"2071\" data-end=\"2100\">Abu al\u2011Wafa Ali ibn Aqeel<\/strong> \u2014 a leading expert in jurisprudence (Fiqh) and Arabic sciences,<\/li><li data-section-id=\"5abam3\" data-start=\"2167\" data-end=\"2260\"><strong data-start=\"2169\" data-end=\"2208\">Abu Zakariyya Yahya ibn Ali Tabrizi<\/strong> \u2014 a respected teacher in hadith and legal theory,<\/li><li data-section-id=\"18cpf9o\" data-start=\"2261\" data-end=\"2454\"><strong data-start=\"2263\" data-end=\"2295\">Abu Sa\u2019eed Mubarak Makhzoomi<\/strong> \u2014 who later became his spiritual guide (<em data-start=\"2336\" data-end=\"2345\">Murshid<\/em>) and granted him <em data-start=\"2363\" data-end=\"2373\">Khilafat<\/em> (authorization in spiritual discipleship).<\/li><\/ul><p data-start=\"2500\" data-end=\"2696\">Hazrat Ghaus\u2011e\u2011Azam\u2019s dedication was extraordinary. After finishing his formal studies, he did not rest on academic laurels alone.
